Livvi's
Place, Timbrell Park An initiative of the Touched by Olivia Foundation (TBOF), Livvi’s Place, Timbrell Park is a community development initiative to construct a world’s first all abilities playground and create a ‘level playing field’ for children with special needs. The Livvi’s Place playground aims to dramatically reduce the barriers experienced by children with special needs, thereby giving them a level playing field for life. The design of Livvi’s Place, Timbrell Park is already being heralded as one of global best practice and was created in consultation with leading playground experts, disability specialists, architects, playground and early childhood academics This park will be unique in the fact that children, regardles of their ability, will be able to play side by side. It has also incorporated aspects which address the needs of children with spectrum disorders.
Touched By Olivia Foundation has partnered with Leighton Contractors and City of Canada Bay Council in this project. We would also like to thank those companies that have sponsored a piece of playground equipment, including:
The total cost for this innovative playground is $AU1Million. Over $250,000 has already been raised by the Touched By Olivia Foundation, a further $150,000 is being provided by the City of Canada Bay Council with works to the value of $160,000 being provided by Leightons Contractors Pty Ltd.
